Command system lockup

Twice now about four months apart my command system / stereo has just locked up. Sound quits, it won't respond to any buttons and won't downpower, even when you turn the car off. Both times pulling the fuse and putting it back "reset" it. Anyone else seen this? BTW, 2004 S55 with Nav and sat. radio and integrated razor phone via a puck.

This sounds to me like a patent claim, but on a different subject?

Which fuse did you pull? I believe the AGW is the most common source for this behaviour but it could be any failing device on the MOST ring.

I agree with Diesel Benz' advice, but add that when this happened in my '00 (a D2B bus, different from your car) it took reloading the firmware to fix it. Add that as a possibility - but check for malfunctioning items on the fiber optic ring first. Fiber optic connections are to first thing to look at. The phone bulletins at http://home.earthlink.net/~phdwebsit..._bulletins.htm will help you locate them.

Now I realise I thought this was a W211 model but it appears to be an S55 W220, the AGW issue would have been on a W211 (at least I'm not familiar at all with the W220 issues).
