Same antenna?
Same antenna?
My cars radio reception is absolutely horrible. Also, I can't be more than 15 feet away from my car for my remote to open the doors(new batteries) and it's pretty much the same thing for my garage door opener in the rear view mirror.
Do all these items share the same antenna? I've read that tint on the rear window affects radio reception. My 600 was tinted, the reception wasn't great, but i could listen to all the local stations.
I'm lucky to get one or two stations with this car.
Any thoughts?

The antennas for your radios are independent of the antenna for your door locks (key) and from the garage door opener. The radio antennas are fine wires in your rear window. Metallic tint will definitely interfere with radio reception.
The radio antennas also have small in-line amplifiers, one for each radio band; In my S-Class they are located on a bar just ahead of the rear window, under the headliner. Don't know about your car. Loss of an amplifier will cause loss of a particular band (not all bands).

Or "triband" as is the description of the 2007-on E-class roof antenna that works for gps, telephone, and sirius.
