Stuck installing MB iPod Integration kit in GL450. Please HELP!

Guys,

I am stuck while installing genuine Mercedes iPod integration kit (part number: B 67824257 + iPod amp part: 204-870-39-94) into my 2007 GL450. I hope that someone here could shed some light and point me in the right direction.

The car is pre-configured with Harman Kardon audio, rear entertainment system, navigation, CD changer, phone kit, and satellite radio. There is no AUX jack in the glove compartment but COMAND has a menu button that displays AUX. I believe that there reason why I don’t have AUX jack is because the car is equipped with rear entertainment system.

I tried to integrate the kit but it didn't work as plug-and-play. When I put everything together COMAND no longer detected CD changer and there was no sound coming from the speakers (radio, Cd -- nothing seemed to produce sound). However, my iPod Classic displayed MB logo and I could see track's title on car's Multi-Function Display.

Has anyone here had experience with MB iPod integration kit? Does anyone have a car with rear entertainment system and iPod kit?

Could you please give any insight?

Thank you and Happy Holidays to all!

Did you tranfer the fibre optic cables from the old connector to the new one in the T-harness? If not the that is your issue.

IT WORKED! Thank you Martinsvi. One I reconfigured MOST ring everything came on line. As it turned out it is not necessary to use optional iPod amp with Harman Kardon system. I am a very happy camper!

On some cars the additional amp is needed on others it isnt..You have to decide on a case by case.
