2.5mm Socket in Glove Box

Hi All,
I have a 2006 e320 with the Command radio and navigation system that I believe is NOT prewired for Sirius, cell phone, or anything else. While looking in my glove box, I see a 2.5mm socket. Does anyone know what this socket is for?
Thank you,
Mike T.

Thanks Andy. When I press the AUDIO button, there is both a CDC and a AUX button. When I press CDC it states no audio cd found. When I press AUX, it brings up another menu consisting of bass, treble, etc.

It's 3.5 mm and it's aux input for sound only. IIRC you get to this via SERV menu.

Thanks Kent, this is what I found out. The 2.5mm jack is actually a 3.5mm jack. I did plug in my iPod, but I barely heard the sound. I then connected a fm transmitter that I had and tuned the radio to the fm frequency, and it worked much better, just about equal to the radios output.

As for installing a satellite radio, I found two possibilities besides what the dealer offers. Here are the web sites for information:

http://cartronics.com/MBMost.html?MBClass=E&VIM=1

http://www.navtv.com/product/86/sate...interface.html

The carTronics unit looks like what I will go with. The antenna is another story, I found instructions on how to mount the factory antenna and it called for drilling a hole in the center of the trunk. I am wondering if the antenna can go inside the car at the bottom of the rear window. Thoughts on this?

Thanks everyone!
