I just purchased and '07 S550 and it does not have an AUX input. I have read in several places that it can be fairly easily done but no one has gone through details. I have an iPhone and even though an ipod integration kit would be nice I have only seen mixed reviews, nor can I justify $600-1000 to listen to music from my phone. Frankly I have no trouble just plugging in the jack and hitting play on my phone. I am going to update to the new telematics which should give me the aux button, but how do I add the jack?

You don't even need to have telematics update to activate the AUX port but it needs Star and then it would be convenient to do it at the same time as the update (I guess this is what you were planning for).

I've added both the Audio and the Video AUX plug to my car, it is a MY2006 car and did not have the AUX port from the factory.

There is a WIS retrofit guide for this, simple enough for one who has some minor experience with car electronics.

 

Hi Diesel, I was told you were the person to go to for information. I read a post from Benxworld and here about retrofitting an aux jack in a S550. I check on WIS but it displayed a EURO part number and the MB parts department in the US don't have a clue of what I need. I had a VIM unit installed in my car but it has no sound. I was told I need an aux jack but here in the states and they have no idea what I was talking about. Can you help me with this? Do you know that part # or some way I can them the order the correct part.

I'm not sure but wasn't there an issue with some of the real early 2007's not having the iPod jack when they should have? I remember reading that the dealers were supposed to correct this at no charge. I may be wrong or confused with another issue but thought it was worth mentioning.
