HK mic

You can just take apart the plastic around the rear view mirror on your windshield and in there is the MIC. If you disconnect it, it disables the MIC's feedback to the head unit for sound volume adjusting.
I have a system in my car and the MIC was causing it to do HORRIBLY annoying things.
Hope this helps.

This was easy!

And I think the sound is more consistent. Thanks.

2007 E550 Sport
I just did an install on my 07 e550, 12w7 in the trunk. I am looking for the mic that is supposed to be located by the mirror, but there is nothing but a wire loop that seems to run to the rain sensor??

Is it possible the the 07 w211's don't have the mici? I went looking because I noticed the sound was alternating and the bass from the sub would drop off the same way the stock system would as if it were being modulated. As soon as the bass hits the way a w7 is supposed to, the stereo gets quiet and the punch goes away. Then, it comes back.

I checked batt drain and went over the entire system before looking here and finding the mic issue. I was so relieved only to find that I don't have one??

Any help would be highly appreciated.
