Disconnected factory cd changer, radio doesnt work

When i was doing my V1 install this weekend i tried to remove my glovebox-mounted cd changer since i never use it. When I unplugged either of the cd changer wires that the radio would not function. It would turn on, display the station, but no audio

Dug into the center console a bit and saw that the radio wire runs through the cd changer. Do i need something to cap off the cd changer wires to remove the changer?

Car is a 2003 C32 AMG.

Thanks!

Yes. You opened (broke) your fiber optics ring, which takes the whole ring (loop) down.

Dealer sells a coupler (a simple loop that feeds tie input side back to the output side of the CDC fiber connector) that will get you going again - about $25. See http://www.benzworld.org/forums/audi...ow-bypass.html

Your car has a D2b fiber optic loop.
