Static Sound from CD Changer
Recently my CD changer started getting crackling and static sounding pops when using the CD changer only. It seems to be getting progressively worse, but it still fluctuates in intensity seemingly randomly. Any ever see this before?
It is on a 2006 G55.

It is possible that the fiber optics leads to the CDC are loose, probably at the changer; or that something has bent the leads too tightly, or possibly damaged them.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't even know this year g55 had the optic cables. I guess taking the CD changer out would let me look at it closer?
I was considering looking to replace the cd changer o fix it, but you seem to think it could be the cables...

I would certainly check cables first.
I'm not familiar with the G55; but MB even used fiber optics (for switch illumination) in my '78.
The problem you describe has occurred in other vehicles using a fiber optic loop for audio. The cause has frequently been cables or connectors.
