Help required - S280 2001 AUDIO 10
First of all Hi 
My car was broken into 2 days ago ( Left hand front window smashed ) and the thief pinched my wifes iPod which was on full display for everyone to see !! ( S280 2001 Model - Audio 10 with no CD Multi )
It was raining quite heavy at the time so the left hand door panel was wet when she came back to the car. Upon arrival the speakers were making a thumping / distortion / crackling noise which i thought was quite strange.
I collected the car as she didnt want to drive it back home and i noticed that the radio doesnt work anymore. No attempt was made at stealing it ( basic cassette player - AUDIO 10 ) and there is a - - - - sign on the instrument panel with "AUDIO" ABOVE IT. The Ipod was not connected at the time of theft.
Ive checked all the fuses ( in all 3 fuse boxes ) and everything is ok. If you pull the 15 amp fuse for the radio the red LED stops flashing and the speakers stop thumping. When you re-fit the fuse the speakers thump and the noise continues. The noise has got quiter and happens ever 7 seconds. Ive disconnected the battery and checked other fuses but no luck.
Ive fitted new glass which was extremely easy and dried of the wiring / elec seat control but the stereo still doesnt work and now im scratching my head - any ideas ?
