W211 Ambient Light

I managed to buy a pair (front & rear) ambient lights domes for a few bucks, but I was wondering is this just plug and use or do I need somekind of module to get this thing working? Because the car wasn't equipped with this option, it's just a 'classic' w211

Thanks guys!

I know for sure it needs to be coded with das to work. As for it needing anything else hardware wise im not too sure. I have a e55 and it was standard. the option also comes with a halo on the over head console and if you have a pano roof. it also has to ambient bars going across the car

My understanding is that if you have a 211 chassis, the ambient light is standard

My understanding is that the OP is not from the US but you may be, makes a difference here (which is why it would be useful to have the location shown in the profile).
