ipod & 2001 clk 55 amg
what are some of the options I have, in regards to hooking up the ipod to my car?
its got all the options except for navi. glove box doesnt have the input jack that some people have..
I dont really want to get rid of the stock stereo because then I'll lose my wonderful little "TEL" button
anyway.. what are some options that I have? it'd be awesome if I'd also have the ability to still control music from the steering wheel, but I'm gonna consider all options & their price of course

What what continent (at least) do you live on, and what head unit do you have?
Check http://mbca.cartama.net/showthread.p...073#post189073 for one option; you would need the Gateway 500 for D2b, or a Gateway Lite from Dension (www.dension.com).
I don't know if any of the head units for the CLK had an aux inout.

also - the car has some sort of a phone cradle - no idea which it is.
is there an iphone cradle, or something? how do I use my iphone (preferably integrated with the rest of the car )

Your phone cradle, if it is OE, is likely for a TimePort phone. If you want to update it, see the "How-To Guide" on cell phones, etc. on the Audio and Electronics main page; there is a better version (because it can be edited more than 24 hours after being posted ) at http://mbca.cartama.net/showthread.php?t=33863 - download the guide, because MBCA is changing its web address on Sept. 1.

I understand the neat little telephone icon... but I would go with a more modern aftermarket unit. Alpine would be my first choice, and with a steering wheel control module from Metra or Navtv you can retain steering wheel controls
now the dilemma would be that the steering wheel phone button would not activate the phone function on an Alpine but could possibly on a Kenwood, which I really don't like because of all the gadgets... so basically i have a little bit of knowledge on the Kenwood
Alpine I have more of...
maybe pioneer has something also

plus besides the ipod cable coming with the new alpines, you can add the following to the radio also
bluetooth
satellite
hd
cd changer
dvd changer (though you would need to add a screen)
imprint sound processor
Further they have the new ipod head unit also out which is pretty badarse
