Upgrade!!!

I'm upgrading my stock system. I have a 2008 CLS63 with HK, Nav, Six disc.....

Working with my local shop, they would like to install;

Audison LRX5.1k, Bit One, JL W7, and Audio Cotrol Matrix. Should I worry about current draw? They are planning on puting the amp in with my spare tire. Should I be concern about the amp being there? The Bit One is going in the same place as my Nav. (left hand corner) I would also like to hear from anyone that has used any of these items?

Any comments would be great!

Thanks in advance!

used all of them, but you might find out why they are using a matrix when you have a bit1? Personally I'd look for a new shop after that mess up. plus what speakers?

also the 5.1k will do the fronts and sub minus center, what are the plans for the rear? once you toss the bit1 in, all the music will be off via delays inherent with using a dsp/eq as the bit1..

personally I'd set it up

ML280 (hertz mille) tweeters front off of lrx5.1k a channels high pass 3khz 12db butterworth

ML1600 (hertz mille) midbass in doors, off of lrx51k b channel xover in bit 1 as bandpass 70-3000 hz 12db butterworth

the above will use output channels 1-4 on bit1

sub setup as dual on the bit1 using channels 7-8 feeding the C section of LRX5.1k x-over 70hz

for rear fill get a small amp and amplify using channels 5-6 out of bit 1

uhmmmm, yeah I have done this quite a few times in MB's... a better woofer than the JL is the Mille 10, smaller enclosure and more musical.

also the speakers above (mille's) get separate than buying as a component set... you wont need the passive crossovers

I'm doing system upgrade in phases! First phase is Bit one, amp, and sub. (Matrix) The shop told me that the Matrix will make it sound better. IDK!!! What are your thoughts on that!? I have a couple of questions, and if you could help me I will be grateful!

1. Will I have to worry about current draw with all of this equiptment?
2. If I did both Bit one and Matrix is that just overkill?
3. How hard is it to remove stock sub? (2008 CLS63)
4. How do you feel about Audison LRX5.1k?

1) not really
2) no it is stupid, but if you have to toss the money away, send me a check for the Matrix
3) not real, just spend some time and don't rush it
4) 1 of my top 5 all time favorites over many many years....

also the shop that told you it will "sound better" does not know the capabilities of the bit1 and you should look elsewhere... my opinion and you can tell them that I said it also... it is a small world I am sure they know me

Thanks a lot! No Matrix for me! I will also look to another shop for my system upgrade! Do you sell the pieces I'm going with?

I went to a different shop and they sold me on the JBL MS8. They told me that I might not need to upgrade my HK speaker for awhile? Have you had any experirnce with the MS8?

The MS8 does have some cool features however it is not the bit1. Yes I have access to all the above, including the ms8.
