Question Audio 20 antenna connections

I have a 2008 B200\W245 with a standard single CD audio 20 head. The back of the unit has what appears to be two antenna connections. Both are fakra connectors one is mustard and the other is black.

Can someone tell me what these are? Is one FM and the other AM frequency? I'm replacing this unit with one that uses a single standard motorola connector and need help in knowing what to adapt. Do I adapt the mustard, the black or use a Y adapter to connect both to a single motorola connection.

Any light that you could shed on the subject would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Antenna connectors on Audio 20 B-class

Hi,
the mustard-coloured connector (single Fakra) connects to the Bluetooth-antenna. The black twin Fakra connector is the one you are looking for: it's the AM/FM1 antenna.

Question Audio 20 antenna connections

Just a quick update that may help. Got a response from Command Online that says based on the VIN number I supplied them, my vehicle has an Audio 20 with NTG 2.0 and that the black Fakra is FM and the mustard antenna lead is AM,

Does anyone know where I can get an adapter that converts thes two inputs inot a single din connector. Secondly, does anyone know how to get power to my antenna amp. My new head unit as a seperate 12v antenna wire comming from the back and I suspect I have to connect this to one of the Quad lock pints to provide power to the amp but not sure which PIN.

Thanks

Actually the mustard one is only bluetooth on NTG2.5 which is Model Year 2009 onward.

For A/B/W203-C&CLC/ML/GL/R class MY2008 and before (i.e NTG2):
Black = FM/AM antenna
Mustard = Diverse antenna (which i've never had sucess in using on a non MB unit)
Blue = GPS (on units with navigation)
Green = Video (TV or reversing camera) on COMAND units which support this

For A/B/W203-C&CLC/ML/GL/R class and W211-E/W219-CLS/R171-SLK MY2009 onward (i.e) NTG2.5
Double White = FM/AM antennas
Mustard = Bluetooth antenna
Blue = GPS
Green = Reversing camera
The video AUX or TV input is on the 18 pin connector

Other units (such as NTG3,3.5,4,4.5 are different)

We have the combo adapters available that combine the AM/FM into a single motorola or Fakra, and also supply power to the Mercedes antenna that they require.

I have the opposite problem. I just retrofit my car, 2006 SLK, from Audio 20 to Comand NTG1 (not a simple job). The Audio 20 head unit had one (black) FAKRA jack. The Comand NTG1 AGW has two jacks (black and mustard). I connected the black antenna lead from the car antenna to the black jack on the AGW. I have good FM reception; but fair AM and Weather Band reception. Guessing I need a signal feeding the mustard jack. Is it just a mechanical splice (splice a coax with a mustard connector into the existing coax in the car); or do I need a splitter or amp? WIS is hard to understand; but appears to be just a splice. More fundamentally, why are there 2 antenna jacks on the AGW. If the cable is just a splice, then why didn't Mercedes use one antenna jack and split the signals (FM/AM) inside the AGW? I realize Mercedes doesn't make anything easy; but I can't understand their logic in this case.

I have W204 with standard Audio 20 without navigation. Year 2010 NTG4.0. Then, should my car mount blue GPS fraka or not?

Hi, I have a 2008 W211 E220 CDi with the Audio 20 head. FM signal is very poor, so I'm considering connecting a universal antennae. Any How-to, advice, comments or experience? Thanks

Hi,

How do you have to make the connection for connector B pin 7?

Is it necessary to put a cable in connector A pin 13 to connector B pin 7?

According to the attached pinout, the allocation of 13 is in "not connected".

Thanks and best regards.
