If you are improving the sound in your 124 by changing over to today technology coaxial speakers, use 5.25" speakers for the rear. After unclipping the rear speakers, cut the wires close to where they connect. Crimp on the required connectors for the new speakers and place a bead of silicone (any color) along the edge of the cylindrical mount where the oe speaker was clipped.
Carefully lower the new speaker onto the silicone adhesive. Replace the grilles. P.
