Angry Ipod (aux) won't display my playlists and all my songs

I just purchased a 08 CL 63 and when I plug in my ipod i can't see my playlists, songs or anything. Nothing shows in the center consol, I can only switch songs for the playlist i'm in before I plug in the ipod.
So if i want to switch playlist, I have to disconnect the ipod, switch play lists then plug it back into the aux connector.
Is there something I'm doing wrong here???
In my X6M, i can navigate thru the whole ipod menu and select whatever song from whatever playlist i desire. This is all done while the ipod is plugged into the aux connector, doesn't work like that for the CL.

Please help. Do i need to update software or something???
Help would be greatly appreciated.

If you're using the 1.5mm plug for aux you'll get nothing.

If your car has the Mercedes ipod adapter, all data is shown in multifunction display (between speedo and tach) and nothing is shown on COMAND screen.

You can change the adapter to the iTronic Audio. If you are interested you can look at our site. It displays on the COMAND, cluster, and allows a lot more control. Just posting this as a sponsor and for other readers reference.

Cartronics,
You should feel good about posting your information and plugging your gear.....all you seem to sell is better equipment than the OEM items. The Original Equipment just seem to operate in a more limited capacity...
