iPhone 4 for 2008 MB E63 AMG
Sorry for asking this amateur question. I just bought a 2008 AMG E63 and I'm trying to use my iPhone 4 with it. A few questions:
1) When I plug in using the cable in the glove compartment it says the device is not compatible with the device. But I can still control the my iPod functionality.
2) Is there any way to make the iPhone 4 work with the cable in the glove compartment? Perhaps it's a software upgrade of some sort?
3) Dealer told me there is a cradle or something that goes in the armrest for Bluetooth.
I'm obviously new - can someone help me understand my various options. I'd like to use my phone and listen to music from the iPhone 4.

The message is simply trying to say that 'it is not OPTIMIZED for this device' - however, as you found out, it will still work. This message has to do more with the fact, that the phone portion transmissions may possibly heard (as a buzzing sound), in the sound system. Typically it is not heard.

The glovebox plug has ZERO to do with telephone--it's just for the iPod function.
If you have Bluetooth puck or phone cradle in console, that will get you connected for phone.
