New command unit in 2000 E430

Questions a friend of a friend . Says he has a 2003 e500 command unit I was wondering if it's possible to put it into my 2000 e 430.

It wouldn't fit; there are no mounting hardware, no wood trim for this unit and the ergonomic of this unit does not go with the 2000 E-class interior. You need to consider a COMAND 2.0( first generation) for your car, which can be retrofitted. Also the picture you show, the unit looks like a radio unit and not a Comand( navigation) unit; the screen is too small!
