'06 SLK 280 - Dying Nav, help?

Hi:
We have a 2006 SLK 280. The screen on the nav unit doesn't work for a few minutes, and is just blank, or shows just a bunch of black lines. After a few minutes after it "warms up" it comes back.
Is there a way to fix it?
Where's a good place to get a used one to replace it with? Other suggestions?
I think the part number is A171 820 30 89
Thanks,
Bill

Navigation Screen Failure
I have a similar problem with my '06 R500. It was first registered in Florida and I live in Canada so I will have to find the time to go to a Detroit dealership for a diagnosis. Let me know if you find a fix.

You probably need to have further diagnosis done; replacing just the screen may not solve the problem.
In any case, see the entries in screen problems under "COMAND" at http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w220...tart-here.html - those businesses that replaced scratched and broken screens may be able to do further diagnosis and make appropriate repairs for far less than replacing an entire COMAND unit.
