Troubleshooting W124 300E 2.8 Becker 1324 "Active Bass"
Symptoms: H/U is energized, takes code, switches between radio & cassette, all apparent visual clues support working radio, but no sound.
When turning on power, can hear faint pop in speakers, but when tuning radio, inserting cassette, - no sound.
Power amp in trunk passenger-side behind rigid carpet. No visual fuse location with amp intact. Amp appears to be stacked on tuner? No other components in trunk.
Looking for possible fuse locations in remote amp/tuner location. Are there fuses back there?
I have replaced all fuses in engine compartment fusebox with new/fresh OEM fuses (they're copper now!)
I know this unit is dreadfully notorious for failure, I was hoping that someone had gotten this far or further in troubleshooting before binning the whole mess.
Thanks in advance for any help.
