No, I buy the antenna separately. The 4 channel & amplified antenna work pretty well, the picture is not as clear as my TV at home (satellite dish), but definitely not as bad as lot of car I see out there (passive or 1/2 channel antenna).

Hey Steve, will the stock OEM, roof mounted navigation/SOS antenna work with this Clarion?

Mine OEM MB roofmounted antenna does work with my [whisper]Clarion[/whisper] navigation system and incar phone...

If my dinosaur W202 only would have had the 95+ electronics, I would definitely have installed a comand with steering wheel and instrument cluster upgrade (multifunctional) in combination with the MB TV tuner, 6310i incar phone and voice recognition...but my car is too old (93) so I had to settle for something else... ;)

Due to the fact that my C250D hasn't reached the 800k kilometer mark yet (it hardly reached 545k right now), it still has some time to serve...

When I met you few months ago, and heard that you have a Clariiiiooooonnnn system in your car (and no xenon lights, no 28 inches wheels...!!!), I was at first very surprised (especially seeing the list of people who line up to have you install command systems for their cars). But then I realized it's all personal choice: some want to go w/ OEM stuff, some prefer third-party product.

One must not necessary own what he/she knows well about. I guess that's your case.

But one must always ultilize his/her knowledge to make money, or help out others. I guess that's your case too :-).

For me, I make decent living doing engineering/designing systems for a satellite tv company (yep, the one every body try to hack :-)). I rarely watch TV at home :-), nor did I own any type of fancy video equipment at home. As the matter of fact, I think it's waste of time !

I thought about that but changed my mind because I do most of the driving so, I have to pay attention to the roads after all. But I bought myself a Alpine system CVA 1004 with XM radio and a nav system to hook up to it. Also, Cingular has put a car kit into my (I am talking about the 560SEL) and when someone called it mute the music. Pretty cool. I just don't want to mess with the harness and what'snot of the S500 coupe yet. Waiting for Steve or someone with the skills of Steve to show up someday to change the system for me. BTW, Steve, if you ever missed your connection flight, let me know! :D

hehe...last time I nearly missed the connecting flight in Indianapolis...I looked at the boarding screen at my gate at 5.02pm where as the plane was scheduled to depart at 5.00 . I was already amazed that I saw nobody at the gate when I reached it...

zam2000 I do have xenons in both my cars...factory MB...and will get factory navigation in my SL (if I ever have the time)...just no 28 inchers though...I have sissy 17s...
