Dreaded 05 SL500 +Ipod Integration Options
I've researched this topic to DEATH and it seems there is no clear answer but I think I have discovered most of the possible options for integrating an IPOD. I do have the COMAND system.
1) AUX jack in glove box - mine doesn't have one, seems this feature was only available in models prior to 2005
2) RCA Inputs on TV Tuner: Not all vehicles came with this feature? I know where MB installs the TV tuner but without taking the car apart, is there any other way to tell if the car has one installed? The COMAND menu system gives no clue to if there is one installed or not.
3) Replace the CD changer w/ a third party unit. Cartronics seemed to have some pretty cool stuff but their website is dead. There's a UK company that sells hardware to replace the CD changer (name escapes me at the moment) but it's pricy - $1000+
4) Burn MP3's to a DVD. Not the best option but better than nothing
Can anyone tell me how to find out if there's a TV tuner installed? Chances are there isn't given that the general consensus is this wasn't a popular US option.
Thanks!

Dension Gateway 500, www.dension.com.
If it is a U.S. specification car, and unless the COMAND has been sent to someone like Nav-TV for modification, there is no TV tuner installed.

I have a Denison in my Audi - works great and was easy to install. Not sure if that helps your Mercedes - but letting you know it worked (I was nervous when I bought mine since I wasn't familiar with Denison, but no issues with it).

Its made in USA, but software developed in UK, and it can be bought in USA too as a result.
Our experience is that Dension doesn't really work that well in a SL. And i've never tried the moBridge which is often mentioned as an alternative. You lose your CDC as it emulates that, but it provides an integrated phone system and bluetooth audio streaming
