ya know, I am just going to throw it out there, but did you look at an audison bit1? or bit 10, (but the bit 10 doesn't have enough summing), anyways the bit 1 will be like the LC81, but also de-equalize the factory tuned signal to get it to be as flat as possible, then comes with a 31 band eq per channel, x-over, phase selection, time delay, aux inputs, and a few other toys...

and of course a hefty price tag, but hey... its toys

Yea I was gonna say the bit 1 is a step above but it is $1000 to purchase + $500 - $1000 for CORRECT install and tuning. The LC8i is $200, it can sum/de-equalize, has individual level control for channel #4 (most use it for a sub woofer level control aka "bass knob"), and has an aux input. Audio Control also has eq's you can use in conjunction with the LC8i as well, however, Audio Control does not offer a 31 band eq. Granted the 31 band eq on the audison is nice, but it is not needed (IMO) unless you are ballin and don't care about the $, a SERIOUS audio enthusiast, and/or you are entering SQ competitions. With the LC8i, an amp with clean power, and a decent cross over (internal or external), your car's audio system will sound great

actually the LC8i de-equalization really isnt a de-equalize. it would need a better processor. at the most it is a level matching-summing device. i had this discussion with the ac rep and proved it with an rta. yes, proper x-over is a great start, but time alignment with X-over is better.

Also i tried the bit 10 on a Porsche 911 for the NBA MVP, though summing only 2 pairs of speaker groups, and it is just as good as the bit 1
