DIY crackling / rattling speaker fix (pics inside)
Had my CLS 8 months and lots has gone wrong so far (IC pump, dynamic seats, keyless entry etc....) and then recently my centre speaker would rattle at certain frequencies and volumes.
so I took it upon myself to fix something..
so here is what I did:
Pop grill off with credit card. allong the edge which is closest to you and unscrew 2 x torx screws (4mm hex key worked... just):
upon inspection of the speaker it was clear what the issue was:
Part information:
Once I had cleaned the old glue from under the cushion and off the cone I applied an even amount of PVA glue (seems semi flexible when dry)
Leave to dry (24 hours preferably (12 seemed ok)) and the annoying noise has gone.
hope this helps somebody... would have helped me...
