laser detector
hello
my wife got busted last week out of state in DC on a camera speed trap. im guessing that some laser thingy. my question is....what can she get that is compact so it can be moved from car to car and is effective in preventing her from getting these type of summones again?

i have the escort 9500ix with the GPS speed camera database , Saved me a bunch of times. Plug and play.

its corded , Live protection is just verbiage re: live radar and laser protection. Its got some nice features. I like the option to display you current speed since i find it distracting to look down at the speedo .

ah, i was hoping this ran on batteries and required it to be charged every so often. i dont like to have the clutter of the cords. plus they look ugly and sloppy
anyway...i may still get it for the wife...believe me...she needs it

They do sell the Solo S3 which is battery operated, Im not familiar with this one , Or you can just hard wire the ix, Not very hard. or pay a shop to hard wire it, Cheaper than another ticket. :-)

i just did some reading on the solo....it runs on 2 AA bats. it seems that its not as good as the 9500ix. i dont think it has the speedcam feature, which we want. i guess ill have to find a way to hard wire it. seen some kits on ebay that is supposed to do this. now i need to figure out how to run the wires without it looking ugly. ideally for me...it runs on battery power like a garmin gps and you charge it when the battery is low.

In DC and VA radar detectors are illegal. The 9500ix is a great radar detector that unfortunately is detectable by a radar detector detector (they are used by the police in DC and VA). The Escort Redline used with Escort LIVE should help to avoid tickets and is not detectable by radar detector detectors.
