Hi,

There is only one connector on the back:

pin1 = brown
pin2 = red/yel stripe
pin3 = grey/blk stripe

2 orange fiber-optic cables

I assume the steering wheel buttons communicate to the comand via the fiber-optic links.

Before I go pulling everything apart...

The steering, the buttons for vol +/- and call send/end should be hard wired from wheel through the column and terminate under the dash somewhere before electrically converted to optical signals.

Can anyone share pictures or describe the location of these connections?

The steering wheel buttons do not have discrete wires, the button status is scanned with a matrix and status info is transferred via a CAN bus.
