iPhone 5 and iPod Media Interface
iPhone 5 and iPod Media Interface
I have a 2011 E-class. Does anyone know if the iPod interface is digital or analog? The new iPhone only puts out a digital signal and I am hoping that I can still control my iPhone's music through the Command screen on the dash.

If you use the Lightning to 30-pin dock adapter for the iPhone 5, you will have analog music output. http://www.tuaw.com/2012/09/13/light...-ipod-out-doe/
Since I don't have an iPhone 5 or the adapter, I don't know if there are limitations on the amount of control you will have.

I asked this question a few days ago, it seems the realization is any car with a iPod kit will only be able to play music and no controls even with the adapter. Not an iHappy conclusion, I wonder how long before new iPod in-car kits will be available for upcoming cars?
