Replacing Head Unit in '99 CLK

I posted this in the 208 forum without realizing that there as special forum for audio, so here it is...

I've pretty much gotten the message that in order to improve the sound in my '99 CLK one of the first things to go is the stock head unit. Problem is I don't like the looks of most of the aftermarket units out there -- too much chrome and blinking disco lights. So I'm looking at the Becker 4602, which has a built-in single CD player, has an AUX IN option for my iPod and integrates well into the interior of the car. So here's my question: Will the 4602 be a step up from the stock unit soundwise since it's a branded M-B unit that the dealer sells? By the way, I do plan on replacing the Bose amps and speakers in the future.
