'06 SL500 COMAND or Battery Problem?

Lately when starting up my '06 SL500, the COMAND does not power up and "please wait" appears in the right multifunction display window. After 3-5 minutes, the display changes to "----", and I see the COMAND screen changing appearance as if it were booting up. After another 3-4 minutes, the right display changes to "off" and the COMAND is now ready for use. I had the the consumer battery tested and the report was all OK. The total inop time period varies from a high of around 8 minutes to fully power up to a low of 5 seconds; more often it's around 3-5 minutes, but the sequence of messages in the display window is always the same whenever starting up my SL. What do these symptoms tell you? Thanks
