W211 E-class replace CD Changer with pocket in dash?
In the W211 you hit a button and the dash opens up to reveal the CD Changer. I saw someone's aftermarket install where they removed the changer and put a pocket in there for extra hidden storage.
I really want to do this and my installer is willing to - but since he doesn't know what's involved, he said it'll certainly be cheaper if I can get info from someone who has done it already.
Anyone here done that, or recall the thread where the guy did so I can ask directly? Seems like a great idea since we're kinda hurting for storage, don't even have a good place for my sunglasses.

if you have an aftermarket stereo, you can simply leave the factory stereo connected to canbus somewhere (like in the trunk, or try gutting factory stereo down to just a few parts and hiding behind aftermarket unit in dash). There is an adapter you can get that allows the pocket to work again, available from a few places as a 'vehicle in motion' NTG2.5 adapter
