04e55. Can someone help me with the part number for a newer disc? I assume either the dealer, eBay, or....thanks for the help.

I don't have the part number, but start on e-bay. Each COMAND system was used in several models, so the e-bay listings will say something like "Fits C, CLK, and M Class" I made that up, but it will list several models. So just search Mercedes E class NAV DVD. If you must have the latest, the dealer or NAVTEQ, the place that makes them, are your only sources usually. But it will set you back about $250, and it's out of date by the time it goes on sale. So live wih it being just a little more out of date and get a 2011 disc off e-bay. I won the auction for mine for $73 I think.

Update...
OK, so I bought a 2006.2 disc off ebay, appears to be like new. Installed it in my drive, and....nothing. Screen says "No DVD, please install a DVD disc (in trunk)."
Hmm, do I have to reboot rosomething when updating? Don't recall doing so before. OE disc still works without issue. I suppose the disc could be bad, but seems unlikely. Thanks for any help you can offer. Was hoping to drive it out of town this weekend with it working.

On my S55 it takes up to 2 or 3 minutes to recognize the disc after trunk inserting. If it doesn't appear after this time then you may have a bad disc.
