Updating COMMAND software
I have a 2002 C-Class saloon (with COMMAND) which came with a 2001 software/map cd. I recently bought a w209 CLK, which came with the updated 2002 map cd.
I noticed yesterday that the CLK COMMAND is more detailed: you can zoom in to more detailed maps. I assumed that the COMMAND hardware is the same in both cars, but the software is different...
... so i put the 2002 disc into my C-Class, but it didn't change anything. Does anyone know if the COMMAND software automatically updates when you buy new discs? Or are there some additional procedures that you have to carry out?
Also, there are two different versions of the 2003 UK cd from Teleatlas. Any ideas what the differences are? (I couldn't tell from their website).
Thanks!
The differences between the Two TeleAtlas CD's is that the one is the normal 2003/2004 CD-rom and the other is the Michelin Special edition version. The Michelin Edition has extra/enhanced info such as Hotels, resturants, Tourist locations, Sporting facilities, hospitals etc whereas the normal version has more limited selection of these. Furthermore the wihichever version has the newer dates i.e. 2003/2004 rather than 2002/2003, has the more up to date road network content as it is newer by 6 months or so.
