COMAND Ipod cable issue?

I am having an issue with my Ipod connection. When I take a corner or just turn the ipod the wrong way, it will lose connectivity with the COMAND system. It does this with two different Ipods (a 3rd gen Nano and an first gen Ipod touch).

Is this an issue with the cable? I bought the car new and have only had it three months, so I would be dissapointed if it is the cable. With the length the cable is it has to bend pretty tightly to fit in the center console. Would the cable be covered under warranty? Is this a common problem?

I've had a couple cables go bad. I bought an aftermarket cable from local stereo shop that is much tougher/thicker and so far it's been fine.

by the way, some older Gs (2004 and older) have "old cables", which have to be replaced by new ones, in order to work with the media interface but the interface itself always works fine.
