Comand Nav Functions Displayed In Ic

Comand Nav Functions Displayed In Instrument Cluster
WHAT IS THE CORRECT INFORMATION? DO THE NAV MENUS SHOW IN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER (SPEDO) OR NOT? My Instrument Cluster does not display the NAV menus. MBUSA position is that no NAV data is displayed in the instrument cluster. The dealer hooked up StarDiag and made sure everything is activated. Everything shows in the IC (TV, AUX, FM, CD, ETC.) except NAV.

Some other threads seem to indicate that the instrument cluster (if activated) would show the NAV functions. WHO IS RIGHT...WHO IS WRONG?

I dunno about yours, but my cluster shows nav information. All of my cars (except 190E).

Oh, and on one of my cars, they tried to tell me that my car didn't have the nav info in the cluster. When I insisted, they finally looked in StarDiag and did it.

Does a 2000 S500 have the capability of displaying NAV options in the instrument cluster?

Richard, as replied in other forums as well...YES, your instrument cluster DOES have the ability to display the nav menu and your dealer IS able to do that for you within 10 minutes if they just have at least 1 experienced EDUCATED tech!!!

I am taking the car back to the dealer Monday. We will see what they say about NAV display in IC.

The lead tech for the dealer knew how to program it and now everything also displays through the IC (even the TV menus).

Steve, can you shed any light on how to program the IC to show nav instructions on a 2000 S500? Thanks, as always.

What I did is...
Show the service advisor the owner's menu on IC section. In the menu, it has all the avaliable menu in the IC and Nav is one of them.
Ps. not sure about the S-class but you can take a look.

Your dealer should have at least ONE tech who has done the stardiagnostic for beginners course...
