Where/ How to mount under-dash GPS

Hi,

Whats the best way to mount an under-dash GPS antenna in a W208 CLK ?
I don't think I can reach the under side of the dashboard from the radio hole.
Do I need to remove any air vents or Glove compartment ?
Please advise the best place/ method for mounting and how to remove anything (like air vents or glove compartment) as I've never done it.

Thanks.

I don't know about your CLK, but on my C the center vents had to be removed.

I just installed a navigation in my clk and they told me to install tha antenna behind the instrument cluster but i put it in a little spot behind the glove compartment and right under the dash the navigation works fine with no problems. this was the easiest spot without taking half the car apart

Hey herculesx,

How did you get to that spot where you mounted yours ??
Did you completely remove your glove box ?
If so, how do you remove it ?

Thanks.

you have to remove it completly the screws are in the box you need a really short philips head screw driver dont remove the 2 front screws they are just for adjusting the glove box door after you take the box out put the antenna next to the vent that is close to the passenger door and go all the way up as close as you can get to the dash board, the is only one opening where you can stick the anttena
good luck

The best place is wher Steve recommends --- behind the instrument cluster. The Cluster comes out in seconds with Steve's tools.
