I have a 2004 S600 and I have a malfunction with Distronic. Drive to workshop appears on screen. The cruise control also will not work. This is my first MB and need assistance. Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone ever resolve this? I bought this car missing the distronic sensor / module (salvage repair), and I just bought one on ebay just so I can have cruise control. I ran initial startup on STAR and it went t horugh just fine, but "Drive to Workshop" error message on instrument cluster is the first thing that shows up when starting the car. Star shows no error messages and no current events, only shadow memory event log:

"7245 DTR: Control module EZS is incorrectly coded or there is a fault in the CAN communication with control module EZS. "

I guess yes (drove to workshop).

Can you clarify, did the car originally have Distronic Plus but the radar had been removed or did it have standard cruise and you tried to retrofit Distronic?

You probably did not code all necessary control units.

Yes it originally had distronic but was wrecked and put back together before I bought it. However they weren't able to get a hold of the distronic sensor so they just sold it without it. I just recently bought the sensor module # 2205454232 and mounted it on and plugged it in. STAR seems to read the sensor/module just fine, and I was able to go through initial startup with no problem. This is the newer 05-06 unit, not the 00-04 one ending in part # 8817, so I don't believe it requires the separate control in the aluminum housing like the older style.

Edit: I'm hoping to save some money and avoid dealership costs. Hopefully someone has similar experience or technical knowledge willing to share.
