2003 SL500 Sport Package

COMAND NAV Lockups and Reboots

It seems like on my 2003 SL500 the NAV unit keeps on locking up and rebooting itself when I try to use it. It started out fine -- and now after ~ 6 months the unit is unusable since it reboots within 5 minutes of starting to use it. It also will lock up and try to reset / reboot it self and just stay hung like that until I stop the car for a while and restart it.

Weird.

Any suggustions -- besides taking it to the dealership -- which I will do soon.

Sorry, no idea.
Might be a software glitch.
As your car is still under warranty, take it to MB.
At worse, they'll need to replace the unit.

Sounds like it is throwing a D2B error. Take it into service and the will dump the DTC codes in order to see what the problem is.

2000 CLK430, 2022 GLE 450

I had the same problem in my 2000 S430. The COMMAND system would freeze as I was driving. Couldn't operate any controls on COMMAND....only thing I could do was turn it off. Not even the steering wheel audio controls functioned. I ended up taking it to the dealer and had a new COMMAND system put it under warranty.
