Does this plug into my command unit or...?

I've spent over an hour searching and I think I have a pretty good idea about this, but I just want to clarify before I go out and starting buying stuff for my command unit.

Car: 2005 E55 with command unit (Navi, HK, etc) see attached photo.

At a minimum I want to be able to play audio from my iPhone 5 in my car. I have already checked my glove box for the aux port and there is just a hole there, no aux plug-in.

I found this part on ECS tuning for the Aux Input Wiring Harness
http://www.ecstuning.com/ES1752622/ (Part #2104405005)

Will this plug directly into the back of my command unit? I've also seen that some cars come equipped with the plug-in for this harness under the passenger door sill? Basically, where do i input this aux wiring harness specifically on my car? Do I need to splice wires in to make it fit in the back of the command unit?

Secondly, to go a step further, once the aux port is installed can I incorporate bluetooth via something like this Belkin?
Amazon.com: Belkin Bluetooth Car Hands-Free Kit for Apple iPod, Apple iPhone, BlackBerry, and Android Smartphones, US Version: MP3 Players & Accessories Amazon.com: Belkin Bluetooth Car Hands-Free Kit for Apple iPod, Apple iPhone, BlackBerry, and Android Smartphones, US Version: MP3 Players & Accessories

I assume it just plugs directly into the aux port i install and to utilize phone calls via bluetooth, or casting music via bluetooth I just switch the command unit input to "aux"?

Any clarification would be great -- I'm ready to buy these two components and get this thing tackled!

Thanks in advance

Renegades,

Thank-You for your interest in the Auxiliary Wiring Harness. Unfortunately, Part #2104405005 does not fit your W211 Chassis E-Class. There is, however, a different Auxiliary Input Cable that will work with your car.

The cable that will work with your car is Part Number 211 540 99 10, which is available HERE.

I am sorry to say that I do not have any pictures of this cable harness at the moment, but I can tell you that the end that goes in the glove compartment is a 3.5mm female auxiliary plug, and the end that connects to the COMAND unit is a small, rectangular plug.

If you have any more questions, or need anything else for your car, please don't hesitate to post or send a PM!

Question to ECS Tuning. Will the auxiliary wiring harness part #2104405005 connect to the radio in a 1999 W210 E55?

The radio looks like this Becker 3309 pictured in this link:

If so, the connector just plugs into the rear of the unit, correct?

Thanks!

bbirdwell,

Unfortunately, that Auxiliary Wiring Harness will not work with your car. The harness only works in W210 vehicles with the COMAND system.

There are modifications that can be done to vehicles with the Audio 30 system in order to get an Auxiliary Input to work, including sending the head unit back to Becker to have them modify it, but I do not have anything currently for this audio system.
