Hey guys really hoping you can help!

I just got my first Merc a c class coupe 230!

2006 model!

I realised it has an ipod lead in the glove but it's the old type of connection!

I have he new iPod nano so I purchased this

Which would allow me to connect the ipod lead to the adapter and then into my own nano

I then hold the CDI button on the dash and Aux input appears

However nothing plays and when I turn the volume up it just plays the airways type of sound

Am I doing something wrong?
Can I use an adapter?
How can I play my new ipod through this car?

 

does it support the older version? I would go to cablejive.com and ask there
