Power Issue / Lights Flickering
So I have
2 1000 rms class a amps pushing 2 Subs. Each gain is only turned up about 10-20%.
0AWG Wires, (equal length runs)
6 farad cap (THE CAP)
JBL-MS8 (8 awg)
I added:
0 awg ground (battery-body)
0 awg ground (alt-body)
I am not getting enough power to the amps, when they hit at 70%-100% volume my lights flicker, even if the lights are off the dash flickers (not super bad but I can notice) I am pretty sure this is causing my amp to heat up as well because the cooling fans are always on high and this is not normal. Using the cars volt meter I can see my voltage droping from 13.8v to 12.2-12.8v. Even before the audio install the voltage was never rock solid at 13.8v after starting it. It would fluctuate between 13.2-13.8v
I recently replaced the voltage regulator on the amp (prior to the audio install) and bought a new BOSCH OEM Spec Battery.
Even before the audio went in I noticed that the headlights seemed to pulse a bit but I blamed that to the HID kit I installed, I don't think that is the case because I have never had any issues with that same HID kit on any of my other cars.
Once I solve this issue I will continue my install and add a 6ch 650w amp to power the active components.
Possible fixes?
Try another cap?
Add a second battery?
Switch to AGM Bosch Battery?
New Alternator?
