CD Changer not working

Wondering if anyone has any suggestions. Out of nowhere, my CD changer on my 2001 CLK 430 just stopped working. It's def getting power, and it ejects fine. When I push the CD button, I get a message stating: NO CD CHANGER.

Any clues.

Thanks.

Check underneath the changer for a flat wide plug near the small power plug. The fat wide one is the fiber optic plug. Make sure it is connected. Sounds like the signal is not getting to the head unit, telling it that the changer exists.

I played around a little, and got it to work again, but I am not sure if it's for good.

Can you explain how to remove the changer? I can't find any tabs or bolts holding it in.
