'06 W164 Comand stuck in upgrade mode

'06 W164 Comand stuck in upgrade mode
Hi everybody!
I recently got a newest navigation upgrade dvd (not from the dealership, if you know what I mean). I've put it in and the Comand turned to upgrade mode asking me if I want to proceed or not. I've chosen 'yes', but nothing happened for a while. I took the dvd out - nothing. Turned the unit off - nothing. It works fine - you can change cd tracks and the music is playing, but the upgrade screen won't go away.
The message says:
"UPDATE MODE
Start update?
SAMCO_R9.3.3_001930
-->
SEE-CONFIG.NFM
<YES____NO>"
I used an esperanza DL DVD+R and to burn the image with x4 speed.
Any ideas on why is it stuck?
I've got two leads:
1. Frimware on my Comand needs an upgrade - but I read that it wouldn't even start the map upgrade, giving me an error message.
2. I've used a crappy dvd and should have burned it on a Verbatim with lower speed.

Ok, so new **** has come to life 
Turns out the Comand didn't get stuck on anything - it was just waiting for an answer. I was using the wrong key..
So as I figured out how to choose 'yes' and proceed with the update, I still can't, because I can't choose 'yes'. 'no' works fine. what could be the problem?
crappy dvd? comand firmware out of date? or maybe maps not compatible with car model?
