Best head unit upgrade for a W211 E55
i have an E55. i think it is the 1.0 version head unit.
has cd changer, dvd in motion and sat nav, bluetooth, and bluetooth streaming.
but no camera
I would like to maybe change the head unit so I can have a camera.
what is the best unit out there available ?
From what I can see the Alpine INE-W987D seems to be the best, but it still looks aftermarket, and I don't like that.
Surely there is better.
The Alpine X800 ML looks great, surely they do them for our model ? or something similar ?
Please any help would be greatly appreciated.
And if anyone knows the sizes of the speakers that would be great, make shopping for them easier

I think the models are different between Australia and the US, but my favorite head unit is the Kenwood DNN991HD. Kenwoods are much better than Alpine in my opinion, but Alpine does have a hardcore following.
As for speaker sizes, here is a table with what should be the correct sizes.
PM me if you have any questions, I work in car audio and do a lot of Mercedes.

post a pic of your screen, I have done many conversions for backup camera. if that is all you need then it would be pointless to change the headunit out.

That is an easy one. Contact derek@navtv.com they have an interface for it. It's an RGB ribbon harness conversion. send him a link to this for reference
