W211 front center speaker making static/buzzing noises
Recently the front center speaker in my '07 E350 has been making a buzzing/static noise when playing music. At first I thought it was a wiring issue since it was more noticeable when I was playing music through my phone with the ipod cable, but then it started making crackling sounds while playing music on the satellite radio. I tried to isolate the sound source and it seems to go away when not using the front center speaker. It is usually worse when playing at high volumes so I am assuming the speaker is about to blow out. Does anyone know if I can replace it with an aftermarket speaker and have it installed at a stereo shop or perhaps I can order the OEM part and install it myself?
I have had some bad experiences with guys at stereo shops trying to rip me off, so I'd rather do it myself if its not too difficult.

rip off at a stereo shop? take it to the dealer and ask a tech that knows nothing about audio to replace it...
or you can do it, it isn't an S class that requires most of the dash to be removed
