Bluetooth audio device paused

I have a new 2014 GLK250 and the Audio 20 system is driving me crazy. Oh, everything works well enough, but when I hook up my RAZZR MAXX phone the audio connection is trouble. I like to listen to audio books I get from my library. They use the Overdrive app to stream the audio. I can pair the phone and audio to the car, and it will work flawlessly for a few weeks and then I get the "Bluetooth audio device paused" problem. In desperation I've tried lots of things,
0) hit pause and play buttons in various sequences on both the car and the phone. Never helped.
1) power off the phone and the car, no help.
2) unpair the car and reconnect. No help.
3) reset the Audio 20 system and start all over, NO help.
4) make sure the phone is playing the book while I pair it to the car. Seemed to work once.
5) Unpair other devices from the phone. Worked a couple times so I keep it this way. Not helping now.
6) Take it to the dealer 3 times and have the technician there try. This "worked" once but he didn't know what he did and it quit a few days later. He promised to report to MB and get help but I've heard nothing in a month.

Though the car says the "Bluetooth device paused", in fact it is not, but it is happily streaming the audio thinking the car is receiving it. Often when I start the streaming from the phone I get a second or two of sound from the car before the "paused" message appears.
