Replacement stereo for '93 2.6
My car has the standard / stock MBZ stereo / tape deck. I'd like to upgrade to a CD unit. Would a newer model's stereo work? if so, which one?
I'm not looking at after market decks yet, since I like to keep the car as much stock / original as possible, including the white color of the lights on the stereo.
Any help will be appreciated!
Thanks,
Petros V.

I assume this a 190E2.6 because the 1993 300Es were 2.8. There is a Becker single CD unit, model BE4602, that I have in my 1999 SLK230. I think it is fine. Only problem is the cost--it is not cheap. Look at the Becker at

Or call them at the number on their website. They can probably tell you if any adapter cables are needed and can supply them as well. The BE4602 is available at your local MB dealer with an MB part number.
