Head unit issues
I have OEM system in my 2010 C350 and recently started having issues with the head unit. I turn the power off to the vehicle, open the driver door and all electronics turn off - head unit folds down into the centre console, etc.
At this point, sometimes all is good, other times the audio system turns itself back on for no reason. I have tried turning off the stereo before exiting the vehicle and it will still turn itself back on - sometimes.
Other times, it will all turn off, but as soon as I lock the doors with the key, the head unit powers back up.
Any suggestions as to what the problem is or how to troubleshoot this?

a few things it could be, software update needed for comand, the comand is bad, or the central gateway has an issue. Other factors could be the factory ipod connector which would require you to remove the comand, disconnect, swap optical to the factory harness, re-install, and hope that is it.
can even be the door module. when the radio comes back on by itself, does the interior lights come on?

ok - looks like plenty of things to troubleshoot.
For the suggestions you listed "software update needed for comand, the comand is bad, or the central gateway has an issue", I'm assuming these would have to be done at the dealership, or is there another way?
As for the door module, I'm not sure - I'll have to check the lights.
The annoying thing is that this doesn't happen consistently...

Issues still happening
Still having issues with my head unit.
Car can be running and I turn off the radio. It powers down, screen closes and then it powers back up by itself again.
Other times I turn the car off, head unit powers down and then it starts back up right away. Only way I have been able to get it to stop is to keep my hand on the "lid" and it eventually figures out the screen can't go back up.
Suggestions?
