2010 w212 troubleshooting pre-upgrade
So I am trying to sort out the cause of some intermittent static/distortion/interference/rattling noises coming from both front and rear channels of the car. It isn't consistent, isn't source dependent, and is more noticeable at low volume levels but is there throughout the range when it is acting up.
Being fiber optic I can't think of a way to troubleshoot what component is causing this issue. (nor is it something I have any background doing so). I'm leaning towards the amp as it comes and goes.
Anyone have some suggestions? I want to get this sorted out before I move forward with a sub/amp.
Also, out of curiosity has anyone seen if a JL Audio 10w7 or 12w6 HO box will fit in the trunk of a w212 sedan? Dimensions are tight but might squeeze in there. I hadn't planned this route but one popped up for "the right price" and would be interesting to listen to until I can fabricate a fiberglass enclosure.
