Pairing Blackberry with W 221

I just purchased a 2008 S 450 which is the short wheel base S model available in Canada starting in 2008 I believe. I believe that the electronics are identical to the W 221 S 500. I'm having trouble pairing the new Blackberry Classic. When telephone is first selected the screen says telephone off. I can get the telephone to show "on" and I can even get the puck in the console to flash blue lights but I can't get the Blackberry to find the Mercedes or the Mercedes to find the Blackberry. Funny enough the BlackBerry can find the "MySync" from my wife's Lincoln that is in the garage with the Mercedes. Can anyone offer suggestions?

Have you tried pairing your wife's phone to your S450? If might be a compatibility issue with your phone and the Bluetooth chip set in your S450.

That's a good idea. Now all I have to do is pry the phone out of her hands long enough to test it. LOL - just kidding honeybun

I inquired with Verizon Wireless regarding your situation and they responded with this:
This is because the old cars are probably Bluetooth 3 single mode and it is not compatible with Bluetooth 4 single mode. You need to test Bluetooth 4 dual mode.

Thanks for your interest and helpful intents, Chief. I took it to the dealer yesterday on another issue and asked the service adviser for help. He was able to pair the 2 after a couple of attempts. The write up in the owner's manual is far from helpful in my humble opinion.

It is paired now. I'll see if any problems pop up in the future.
