06 ML350- add factory Sirius (looks like I am prewired)?
I want to replace the command unit with an aftermarket unit, but my wife does not.
So... Looking at adding the Sirius module.
I have the wiring harness with MOST cables and antenna cable under drivers side rear seat.
Does that mean the antenna is in place as well, or do I have to add an antenna?
Vehicle did not have Sirius from factory, but is obviously prewired.
I have spent a couple of hours searching but cannot find my answers.
I know I have to order the tuner box (which I can get with the mount for a decent price used). Just need to confirm antenna and whether or not that is going to be an easy thing, or if I'm going to have to run one.
Also, is there any programming a shop will have to do to add it to the command unit, or is that something that just recognizes automatically, or that I can add through engineering menu?

all i can say is try it, worse case run an aftermarket antenna.
06 should need turned on and placed in the loop. also, it will need the software updates to recognize the new channels.
now I don't know any Benz dealers that will know how to add it anymore. you might want to call around your area.
I even think navtv and mobridge dropped their Sirius tuners because of the issues with parsing the info
