2003 Mercedes CLK320
Red battery warning

New here, so apologies if this is in the wrong area.

I hit a pot hole a couple days ago while accelerating at speed, the red battery warning light came on straight away advising "Visit Workshop". When I turn the car off and on again it goes away. If i drive normally it's fine, but when I floor it or go WOT it comes back on. On idle the voltage is approx 14 and stays around 14 when I drive, but when I accelerate sharply, the warning light comes on again and the voltage goes down to about 11.5/12 until I turn the car on and off again, then it goes back to normal. Not sure if it's the belt, alternator or a loose wire?

My car is a 2003 CLK320 with 72k miles on the clock.

Is this a common problem? Any ideas?

Thanks all.

Welcome someone should be able to help you. I would think something is loose or bad connection since it only happens sometimes
